Part I of a three-part review of different open source ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems. This part contains a table listing the availability of selected features in Compiere and Hipergate.

The tables will compare the availability of features in the following open source ERP solutions: Compiere, Hipergate, Open for Business, Neogia, Oratio, Suniant ERP, and webERP Accounting.  This is not an in-depth review of the features like I wrote for two open source CRM products, rather it’s just a quick chart that I compiled while reading the companies’ feature lists and roadmaps on their websites, and while playing with their on-line demos.  As such, the table main be incomplete and contain some inaccuracies, and so I encourage readers to post any additions or corrections.  I would also like to hear about any good ERP’s or significant features that I may have overlooked, as eventually I would like to post a complete and accurate table listing all the important OS ERP’s.  Leave a comment, or e-mail me at jwalczyn@sourcio.com.

Today’s table includes Compiere and Hipergate.  The former is probably the most well known and most mature open source ERP in existence and it also has some good CRM (Customer Relationship Management) features, while the latter is mainly a CRM system with some decent ERP elements.
